The CSS has not been shortened. Individual adjustments may be necessary. There are no limits to your personal responsibility. By using the standard classes, the icons from the respective style are displayed.

The "Viewlegend - GREAT ICON LEGEND" is in fact extensive. When describing the icons, Talk19Zehn endeavoured in 2014 to provide correct, brief information for each icon.
The standard event used displays the link to the "Viewlegend - Icon Legend" in the footer and informs you, your visitors and your members about the purpose of the forum icons and topic icons.

This extension displays forum, topic and post icons, including their meaning, in a full-page overview. The mini icons and post icons as well as the standard BBCodes can also be displayed in extracts.

Additional features:

• The visibility of the viewlegend.html can be switched if Show Mini-Viewlegend activated: This ensures a pleasant, more flexible page view.

Setting options in the ACP:

Enable Viewlegend - Additional features:
Activate Admin-Mode:
If enabled, only administrators can see the Viewlegend.
Show Mini-Viewlegend:
If activated, the mini-icons used in the respective style are displayed in excerpts and the visibility of the viewlegend.html can be switched. This ensures a pleasant, more flexible page view.

Requirements:
phpBB 3.2.6 or higher and the standard style prosilver (must be installed)
PHP 7.0.0 < 8.4

Important:
Old versions must be uninstalled when updating the viewlegend, as the old files must be deleted. See "Completely removing an extension from your board" and then "Installing an extension"!

Install the extension:
After downloading, unzip this file and upload the entire "ongray" folder to root/ext.
In the administration area under Customise -> Extension management, Manage extensions -> Disabled Extensions in the "Viewlegend" line, click on Enable.

Important: With this renewed update of the VL-Extension (Version 2.3.7 - January 2025) the composer.json is changed: Requirements for PHP: "7.0.0,<8.5.0". The ext.php has also been adapted to the PHP requirement "7.0.0,<8.5.0".
CSS: background-size has been removed. As a result, the folder icons are loaded in their original size. However, there are exceptions for some styles that require a special CSS instruction.
The CSS instruction (prosilver)
{% INCLUDECSS '@ongray_viewlegend/viewlegend.css' %}
has been moved directly to viewlegend.html. This has the advantage that the CSS is only loaded when the extension is called by viewlegend.html. This shortens the loading time slightly and is not permanently loaded (see source code in the browser).
The overall_header_head_append.html has therefore been removed as it is no longer required.

You must follow the ACP instructions. Renew / update an EXT: Updating an extension

• disable extension

• delete via ftp (filesystem)

• upload new extension

• enable it

Important information: The new version 2.3.8 of the Viewlegend extension replaces all previous versions.
Important Installation Instructions and Notes for Viewlegend V_2.3.8

Due to numerous changes, previous versions of this extension must be completely deleted! This means that data must be cleanly removed from the database.
ACP / CUSTOMISE / Manage extentions / Extensions Manager:

- Completely removing an extension from your board

• Disable the extension

• Delete the extension’s data

• Delete the extension's files from the file system (FTP)

• Clean and purge all caches

- Installing an extension

• Upload the contents of the -> newly unpacked folder (Viewlegend V_2.3.8) to phpBB/ext/ongray/viewlegend - please note the path

• In the ACP, go to Customize -> EXTENSION MANAGEMENT and then

• select Manage Extensions and enable, activate the "Viewlegend" extension

• Clear and purge all caches again

- This additional features no longer exists:

• If the extension Advanced BBCode Box by MattF (formerly VSE) is used and this is activated, you can switch the output of the standard BBCodes to that of the Advanced BBCode Box in the ACP module. The standard BBCodes of the Advanced BBCode Box are then output in extracts.

The switch to the Advanced BBCode Box extension by MattF (formerly VSE) has been removed. This is partly due to the fact that the Advanced BBCode Box (BBCodes) extension creates its own output via app -> /help/bbcode.
Furthermore, since the introduction of SVGs in the Advanced BBCode Box (BBCodes) extension, the switch has only been possible through highly complex modifications within the VL, especially since, according to the FAQ (Advanced BBCode Box). Users of the Advanced BBCode Box extension can make various custom adjustments to BBCodes, which the VL cannot generally accommodate without conflicts for each style according to our tests. These include, for example, icons from other developer branches, visual outputs and much more. Please understand our decision to remove the simple switch for these reasons.

The prosilver_dark (Prosilver Dark Edition) style is no longer officially maintained (latest phpBB version 3.3.11) and has therefore been removed.

To avoid inconsistencies between phpBB 3.2.x and 3.3.x, the explanations for the following symbols have been omitted as a precaution: [ticket/17492] fa-check-square-o, fa-square-o (verified in April 2025 for phpBB V_3.3.16). Language details changed, CSS and HTML adjusted, and optimizations made.

Tip: Anyone who has made their own adjustments or changes to previous versions is responsible for incorporating them into the new version. Therefore, a backup and version comparison of your own content is recommended beforehand.

Weil sich zahlreiche Änderungen ergeben, müssen vorherige Versionen dieser Erweiterung vollständig gelöscht werden! Das heißt, Daten müssen sauber aus der Datenbank entfernt werden.

ACP / ANPASSEN / ERWEITERUNGS-VERWALTUNG / Erweiterungen verwalten

- Eine Erweiterung komplett aus dem Board entfernen

• Deaktiviere die Erweiterung

• Lösche die Arbeitsdaten der Erweiterung

– Diese Zusatzfunktion existiert nicht mehr:
